Weedmaps Museum of Weed Opens in LA
LA got a lot HEAVIER this weekend with the launch of Weedmaps Museum of Weed. We got an exclusive look into the Museum on Thursday 8/1 for the Museum opening. The pop-up will be open August 3-September 29 and is located at 720 N. Cahuenga Blvd.
The interactive exhibit boasts on being equally as informational as it is Instgram-able. Learn everything about Cannabis, including its history, evolution, uses, and effects on the body. “It’ll be an engaging, eye-popping experience, but it’ll also teach you plenty about cannabis and its history. Visitors will find a wealth of in-depth cannabis information—covering weed culture, science, and medicine—while also offering plenty of great photo ops,” says Weedmaps Vice-President of Communications and Public Relations Alex Clark in an interview with mgRetailer.
This 30,000 sqft traveling museum aims to squash the negative bullshit surrounding the plant by spreading information in a fun and creative way, which promises to be quite entertaining whether or not you’re high (but who really wants to go to that while sober??). The museum includes the following 7 exhibitions: Pre-Prohibition, Age of Madness, Counterculture Revolution, Behind Closed Doors, Entrapment, Dose of Compassion, Legalization. It also includes interactive art installations, artifacts, a Plant Lab, a full cafeteria, a gift shop, a snack/coffee bar, and lots of lounge spaces for you to chill in while you eat your munchie food.
While there are no cannabis plants on site, the museum will allow you to participate by send a note to your local Congressperson in support of “ethical cannabis legislation.” The museum will not be selling any cannabis products (TCH or CBD), nor will they allow consumption on site. You must be 18+ to enter the museum, and it is $35 for GA tickets. Find out more information on their website.
